The following article taking from the Yorkshire Forward site highlights some of the successful advances MedEx is making in conjunction with employers in the industry to ensure staff are trained to the highest level ensuring the best possible standard of care for their residents.

 

A training company from Sheffield has been selected to educate the 500 staff of Ideal Care Homes.

Medex Training is involved as part of a plan by Ideal Care Homes to open 11 new facilities in the next year. The first of these, at Brackenfield Hall, will look after dementia victims and residential clients.

First aid, food hygiene, infection prevention, medication handling and fire safety are among the skills the staff will be taught in the Medex Training two-week course.

The company, which was founded in 2004, will also train staff in specialist disciplines around dementia and challenging behaviour.

Lawrence Tomlinson, chairman of Ideal Care Homes said: "At Ideal we are only concerned with delivering the highest possible levels of care to all our residents and felt that Medex offered the best possible training programmes to suit our staff's needs.
