First Aid at Work

This is a 3-day intense programme covering all aspects of First Aid. This course is suitable for candidates required by employers to have First Aid status in their workplace role. The certificate will be valid for 3 years.

 

Course Content

•     Legislations
•     Roles & Responsibilities of the First Aider
•     Basic Life Support
•     CPR
•     Recognition of minor conditions including Asthma, Epilepsy and Meningitis
•     Fractures
•     Dressings
•     Burns/Scalds
•     Poisons

 

Aims

By the end of this course, the candidate will be competent in delivering all aspects of First Aid.

Assessment

Each candidate will be assessed on their competency at Basic Life Support, including CPR, dressing and bandages. (Active participation is essential for this course!) Underpinning knowledge will be formatively assessed throughout. This will be in the form of Q & A, flip charts, work, individual tutor observation and group scenarios.
